No. It is only possible to download all of your images and videos.

Yes! Version 1.5 allows you to select which albums to download. This feature requires MacOS 11.0 and up (Big Sur)

You can retry to download everything as many times as you would like. Smudo skips the files which are already present in the destination folder. So Smudo will download only the images/videos that failed previously.

Does Smudo store personal information?
No. Smudo doesn't contain any trackers, analytics or whatsoever. Smudo doesn't even need to know your account credentials. You can revoke access to your account at anytime in your account settings in your SmugMug account.
